Problems arise because of differences. When we realize that in real life, not all problems have perfect solutions, we react with all kinds of emotions and actions, and this could sometimes lead to even more serious problems. However, what is the root of the problem?

 

No two leaves in the world are the same, and no two people are the same. It is more important to be aware of the existence of "difference" and to be able to see and accept it than to rush to "fix" the problem. Especially nowadays, with all the impact and changes that pandemic brings to the world and people, it is a great opportunity for us to rethink "differences".

 

As theatre professionals, we’ve been thinking about the new possibilities of theatre and how can it relate to each of us.

 

What is theatre? Countless scholars and artists have defined it. But isn't theatre rooted in "difference"? Time, space, situation, beliefs, background, language, even food, clothes, emotions, experiences, friends --all these things make us who we are, different from anyone else. The existence of "differences" has stimulated the creation of theatre to a great extent.

 

In 2022, Just Art Association will continue to organize the second series of the "           is theatre" project – "DIFFERENCE is Theatre" International Festival 2022. The invitational section includes three international collaborations with artists from Japan, Germany, and China. They work in residency with Spanish artists, creating and performing around the theme of "DIFFERENCE is theatre".
